About Shinysun's Cross Stitching...

Hi, thanks for taking a minute to learn about Shinysun's Cross Stitching.
My name is Dawn Jachim and I currently operate SCS out of my home in North Canton, OH.

We are a family owned business that started in the beginning of 2005 for 2 main reasons...

The first and most important reason is my wonderful, loving, 13 year old son, Ryan. On July 10, 2003 he was
diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. He's the type of diabetic that never has stable blood sugar levels. Therefore, he has
been labeled a 'brittle diabetic'. Ryan receives anywhere from 5 to 7 injections of insulin daily. Most days he only
receives insulin first thing in the morning, with all meals, and at bedtime. I spend such a great deal of my time caring for
him and his condition that I am unable to work outside of the home. So, I had to make good use of my time and started
stitching again, (my mother taught me how to cross stitch when I was only 5 years old). With so much time on my hands
I started to look around to find good quality patterns that weren't cartoons, samplers, houses with just trees that were
all backstitched and flowers that were french knotted, and so on. That's where the next paragraph comes in...

The second reason was due to the limited availability of counted cross stitch patterns, no matter where I tried to
purchase them (and I covered 5 states looking). With over 25 years of cross stitching experience, I was becoming tired
of the typical run of the mill patterns, with little or no selection in any store I visited. I began to look at Art on the Internet
and an idea began to unfold! It was then that Shinysun's Cross Stitching was born and began to take shape.

With over 50 contracted artists and still counting, the last 7 years have been very exciting. SCS is becoming well known
all over the world. We are in several catalogs here in the US and Internationally, selling to your local stores. If you see
a pattern or 2 that you would like to purchase, ask your local store to contact me. It is now my goal to continue further
development and growth all over the world. I take pride in knowing that my patterns are some of the best to be found.
Combine that in with the excellent customer service I promise to offer and I'm sure you won't go wrong. I offer one of
the largest varieties of pattern genres found anywhere, from fantasy to wildlife and beyond. I am always on the lookout
for new Artists and new art from current Artists, so check back often. You never know what you might find!
